The underlying knowledge for this service is the result of over twenty years of in-depth research conducted by Dr. George Gitchel at the Department of Veteran's Affairs. Originally focusing on Parkinson's disease and other neurological conditions, Dr. Gitchel was recruited to be the main eye movement expert and consultant on the two largest grants ever received by Virginia Commonwealth University. The "CENC" and "LIMBIC" grants (totaling $112M in grant funding) provided detailed eye movement data from thousands of Veterans nationwide; along with a detailed picture of their head injury history. 

Dr. Gitchel holds the US patent for the "Automated analysis system for the detection and screening of neurological disorders and defects"
